Understanding Application Statuses
What each status means in the application tracker.
Status columns
Your applications move through eight statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Preparing | AI is generating your tailored resume and cover letter. |
| Review | Ready for you to review, edit, and approve. |
| Approved | You've approved the application. PDFs generated. |
| Applied | Application submitted (manually by you, or via Assisted Apply). |
| Viewed | The employer has viewed your application. |
| Interview | You've been invited to interview. |
| Offer | You received an offer. |
| Rejected | Application was declined. |
Automatic status updates
Some transitions happen automatically:
- Preparing to Review -- When AI finishes generating your documents.
- Approved to Applied -- When Assisted Apply successfully submits on a full-auto portal (Pro plan). On prepare-only portals, you confirm submission in the HITL queue.
All other transitions are manual. Drag the card to the right column when your status changes.
Status history
Every status change is recorded with a timestamp. Open any application's detail view to see the full history: when it was prepared, approved, applied, and any subsequent updates. This helps you track response times and identify which companies move quickly.
Tips
- Move cards to "Rejected" when you get a rejection. This keeps your active pipeline clean and your stats accurate.
- Use "Viewed" if a recruiter reaches out or you see activity on your application in the employer's portal.
- The "Interview" column is your win list. Even if you don't get an offer, reaching this stage means your application strategy is working.
